At this year's SCAA conference I attended a very informative seminar on grind particle analysis. The Ro-Tap sieves and machine were discussed. I'd really like to put this into practice when my volume develops and I being shipping more ground coffee to wholesale accounts and can also see the benefit of providing grind particle analysis to customers who buy whole bean and grind their own for drip.
The manual process of shaking has distinct limitations but it may be years before I can justify the expense of the actual Ro-Tap shaker machine. Is there any reason why I can't adapt a small paper jogger table to this purpose if I can engineer get the sieves securely mounted and level and control the strength and duration of the vibrations appropriately?
