Dunkin Donuts has Twittered
that the "majority" of the coffee they use is shade grown. I've done quite a bit of research on them, and there is no evidence of this -- they don't even claim it on their web site. Aside from their espresso drinks being FT, I don't see that they use any other certified coffee, including organic.
Certification aside, I doubt they source much truly shade-grown uncertified coffee. Unfortunately, a prominent blogger is promoting this to birders, who are a pretty influencial group.
Can someone who knows something about DD coffee sourcing weigh in on their ethical green sourcing?
