It's very Australian in its definitions and technique, but to be honest, it's not terrible advice.

Far better than many coffee trainers I've seen/heard.

I think there was a thread about this on home-barista.com a while back. The initial app was called Home Barista and there was a big uproar over there. Not sure if it's the same one or not.

It's not a bad little app.

This thing is useless to the modern barista. It doesn't even show you how to properly roll your eyes at a customer ordering an iced espresso, or what actually constitutes an ironic t-shirt and what is just a commercialized print T. Seriously.

......"In the mood for a macchiato? Like to make one at home on your own expresso machine? Barista, a recent arrival on the App Store, can guide you through each step in the process of creating a caffè latte, cappuccino, americano, mocha, and other delightful expresso beverages. It also offers tips — on selecting and storing coffee beans and creating “latte art” — and a handy glossary.".....
