On Wednesday, September 1st 2010, a Brooklyn apartment fire claimed the home of Sam Penix and Sasha King. Sam and Sasha have been working in specialty coffee for years; Sasha is a former barista and barista trainer at Batdorf and Bronson, now currently employed at Cafe Pedlar in Brooklyn, and Sam is co-owner of Everyman Espresso, located in Manhattan’s East Village.
