Barista Guild offers free renewals/$20 first time membership

Postby scottlucey on Wed Apr 22, 2009 12:21 pm

All right all right... I've got some good news.
Go here - - https://www.signmeup.com/site/reg/regis ... id=RH2V5K7
The Barista Guild of America and the SCAA realize we've a large problem with managing membership. We hear you loud and clear.

If you've ever been a BGA member, you get to renew for FREE.
If you haven't ever been a member, the $45 fee has been cut to $20. $20!

This is a limited offer that will expire May 1. Act now please.

From this point on, BGA members will pay a lower fee to enter competitions than will non-members.

If you're not living in the USA, don't worry. The Barista Guild Executive Council is ready to bridge relationships outside of the US. The position of 'International Chapter Rep' is now on the bill for members to nominate and pick their choice of international representation. We've had international members for some time now and it's time to start recognizing them. Hi international members!

This is an example of some of the great things coming from the Barista Guild.
Our certification program is another... I won't suck up this thread (but might start another) talking about what our cert. program is (page 46 of your confrence guide) but personally I believe this thing will work, it already is.

Maybe here would be a good place to tell Chicago baristas that they will be invited to challenge Milwaukee baristas in a throwdown streamed live and judged by regional judges live live live online. Look for your formal invitation in the mail, but this is an example of something we want to make work to inspire regional energy.

If you seek change, if you have ideas or ways you can contribute, please sign up. This organization is by members for members.

Keep your eyes peeled for more online postings and details from the barista guild.

Stay tuned!
until then

It's been cut to $25, not $20. But that's still a killer deal.

I renewed!

Great idea...

Although I'm a little ashamed that the free renewal was necessary to get me to renew, I doubt I'm the only one. I'm also confident that I'll be maintaining my membership from now on!
