It has been formally announced, I will be leaving Dilworth Coffee at the end of January for new coffee digs in Atlanta with Batdorf & Bronson. I will be joining Mike Ferguson in strengthening the Atlanta Batdorf operations, and my role will include Training, Events, Social Marketing, Wholesale Support and some sales. It's been a good ride here in Charlotte, Dilworth Coffee's been a good one, and will continue to be as they build on new ownership.
I will continue to build upon the coffee culture I've tried to see thrive in the always overlooked Southeast, and will do it on a larger level now, with support from a much larger and respected company. Because the Southeast is so big, covers so many states, there's much work to do, and Atlanta's a great place to do it from. Most of my family lives in Atlanta, I grew up around there, and it's sort of a homecoming for me. I look forward to working with someone as respected as Mike Ferguson, as well as all the other great team at Batdorf Atlanta I'm already friends with.
My goal is to see Batdorf & Bronson as well-known and respected in the Southeast as they are in the PNW, and I am positive I can certainly help with getting that done. Batdorf has both a great history and a great future, and it will be great to be a part of it. I have to say a big thanks to all the fine people at Dilworth Coffee, a coffee company that I respect immensely, has supported me greatly, and really does put out some great coffee, albeit more quietly than most other companies. Chad Maslanka is one of the best roasters I know of out there. I start with the Atlanta Batdorf team Feb. 1st.
