I just wanted to share my newest coffee-toy: this bad boy. MarkP wrote a post about this thing on CG a while back and I picked one up. I'm REALLY happy with it. I don't know if other people are using anything like this but it seems like there is a lot of potential with a tool like this. It's already getting me thinking about green in a different way and it's really useful in analyzing roasted coffee for tipping and overall texture. The more I've been using it, the more potential I see it having.
Anyway, just wanted to share.

If you want to get a real close up view of some coffee, then I have a thread that must be read. Over on HomeBarista.com we have been working on a grinder review with a few of the big commercial conicals.

John (RapidCoffee) ran some samples through a scanning electron microscope for comparison. Must be fun to have access to a SEM and a laser diffractometer.
