London espresso? (in addition to Square Mile)

Postby phaelon56 on Fri Jun 04, 2010 9:58 am

I'll be in London for a days beginning June 13. Will have at least two and possibly three days of free time. Plan to bring my Skerton grinder and Melitta cone for the daily cup of morning drip in the hotel room but will appreciate any and all suggestions for good espresso and coffee to be sampled on my travels. I know Square Mieleis a must-visit but who or where else?

Will be staying in the Maida Vale neighborhood near St. John's Wood but don't mind a long tube ride for a good drink. Tips on good/under-the-radar/ethnic/reasonably affordable dining will also be appreciated.

I should add that I now understand Square Mile has no shop of their own serving espresso - but I plan to visit Penny University for some killer drip. Still hoping to get espresso suggestions, though.
