Anyone know of good coffee shops in Denver? I have a former employee looking for a place to get good joe in her new digs. Possibly looking for a part time job there as well. Thanks!

I've spent the last few years composing this online espresso map, and the Denver area is particularly up-to-date, seeing that I live/work here. http://www.pullcoffeeblog.blogspot.com

There are some decent shops here, as of late...particularly Novo, Crema coffeehouse, Aviano, Metropolis, Salvagetti (also a bike store)...and in Boulder: Ozo, Logan's, the Cup.

A head's up on Aviano: they just moved from their Lincoln location to North Cherry Creek (see map) on 2nd. st, in the old Peaberry.

I just returned from Denver. Had the pleasure of meeting Herb Brodsky (Novo co-founder,) touring the roastery, and then attending a Santa maria tasting the following evening at their Cafe across from DAM. Great coffee, great time, and the most excellent hospitality shown by Herb, Josh and Maggie was truly appreciated. Also popped into Crema for a quick machiatto and was quite pleased. I'll hope for a longer visit next time.

Also, there is a lot of exciting stuff going on in Denver!!! Happy Coffee is plotting to open up a new space (opening date/location TBD), Novo had a great jam the other day, Crema is expanding and adding food from a great local chef, and there are several micro-roasters springing up with a penchant for quality. Great! Also, a few of us baristas have started the Denver Coffee Review (http://www.denvercoffeereview.wordpress.com) which will review some local shops and point people in a good direction for the specialty scene here.
